Pediatrics

Pediatrics is the medical specialty that deals with the examination and treatment of patients aged 0 to 16 years. The pediatrician does not only treat children who have a disease or condition. Children whose normal development or growth is disturbed can also be examined and treated by the pediatrician. Our pediatricians, together with other healthcare providers, provide the best possible care for sick children, with child-friendliness at the forefront.

The St. Vincentius Hospital has a children's ward and an incubator (newborn children). The children's ward has a family room and rooming-in facilities. The parent(s) of sick children can therefore stay in the hospital during the admission of their child. Together with the parents and the child, we determine which care and guidance is needed. Moreover, we take into account the development and environment of the child in every situation.

The pediatricians are Dr. N. Braafheid (pediatrician), Dr. W. Keenswijk (pediatrician and nephrologist) and Dr. C. Heye (pediatrician).
